Selling An Old Laptop
A laptop is worth very different amounts depending on its configuration and whether it still works. That is why we ask for details rather than quoting by weight.
What decides the value
- · Processor generation, RAM and storage configuration
- · Whether the unit powers on and holds charge
- · Screen, keyboard, hinge and body condition
- · Missing parts — battery, adapter, drive or RAM
- · Quantity, if you are selling several units together
- · Current demand for that class of machine
Working, faulty or dead
A working machine is assessed for reuse or refurbishment, which is normally where the most value sits. A faulty machine may still be worth buying for its usable parts. A completely dead unit is routed as electronic material for recovery. All three are worth telling us about.
Data on the drive is handled the way you ask — erasure or physical removal — and that is agreed before collection rather than afterwards.

Share the configuration and a few photographs. We confirm the route and value basis, and inspection is usually done from photographs and a device report.
